The fourth SAILS (Strategies for Assessment of Inquiry in Science Education) project meeting was held on 17-18 October 2013 in Leuven, Belgium and hosted by ATiT. The main focus of this meeting was to hone in on the Inquiry and Assessment items that will be used as exemplary material during the teacher training workshops in each of the participating countries. While work on the creation of a framework for assessment continues, partners agreed that it is important to now create a set of assessment activities related to inquiry practices in Physics, Chemistry and Biology that can be used by pilot teachers who in turn will provide evidence of assessment back to the network. In the coming weeks partners will work on a series of materials for a variety of subjects and educational levels. The next meeting of all partners will take place in Hungary in May 2014.
ATiT are partners in this project with responsibility for dissemination. Information about SAILS is available on the project website.
